I have decided to jump right into another readathon, and it’s an exciting one! The Bookish Trials is a Month-long readathon and Competitive event taking place from 1st – 31st July 2019. The main creator and Queen of the Queendom is Rachael from Rachael Marie Book Junkie. You can take part in two ways, either the Quest to The Bookish Grail, or the Competitive Trails. Here I’m going to go through the details for the Quest, if you’re interested in the Competitive Trails you can see Rachael’s Announcement Video for details on the Trails or for further information. Everything here has been created by Rachael and it’s all so incredible! In addition, she has recommended books for each of the prompts here! Be sure to be following to Twitter page and check the Google Drive for any additional bits!
There are four teams, Mage, Scribe, Bard, and Outlaw, (you can take a quiz to be sorted, or pick a team you prefer) and each team has a leader, a strength and weakness, and as it’s a quest to The Bookie Grail, each team also has a set quest where each step is a different reading prompt! There are 4 prompts that are set for each team, and then the final reading prompt which is the Group Book which everyone will need to read to complete the quest. As it is a quest, each prompt needs to be completed in order of your path and is only one book per prompt. You will need to log your completed books onto the Progress Tracker so you can get points for your team on every book you complete! It is 10 points for prompts in your set path, 50 points for reaching The Bookie Grail, and 5 points for each additional book.
I chose to be in the team of the Mages, and The Marquess of Magi is the lovely Becca from Becca And The Books. Because we can bend time, we get a 3 day jump on the readathon, so we get to start on 28th June instead of 1st July. But for the weakness, because one of our spells went weary, we would have to read a book out of our comfort zone. Below is the map, and the Magi are starting at the Orc Grove and working our way through Ol’ Pirate Road, Glimmer, the Draconic Isle and finally to the The Bookish Grail.
I will also be trying to go for Quest Champion which is to complete all the prompts, for that I am going to do a separate post as this one is likely to be long enough already!
