OWL’s Magical Readathon! [2019]

IT IS BACK! This is by far my favourite Readathon series of the year, we have the OWL’s in April, NEWT’s in August, and Extra Credit randomly through the year. Because I completed the Charms Extra Credit last year, I can start my Charms read 5 days before the official start, hence the entire TBR coming earlier! The idea of this readathon comes from the wizarding exams in Harry Potter, so for each subject there is a specific reading prompt, and to pass a subject you just need to read the book you selected for that prompt! There are 12 subjects, and there is also a PDF booklet Gi has created for the Wizard Careers if you want to carry this onto the NEWT’s readathon and qualify for a magical career!

This readathon had been created and hosted by the wonderful Gi from Book Roast, and the OWL’s readathon will be taking place for the whole month of April (1st-30th). For those who had done the Charms Extra Credit can potentially start this subject on 27th March. There is 12 subjects in total, and the grading system is as follows: 2 passed exams – Acceptable, 6 passed exams – Exceeding Expectations, 9+ passed exams – Outstanding. As with before, there can only be one book per prompt so no doubling up! You can find the announcement video here, and there is also a Twitter account to keep up to date! If you want further information, the OWL’s prompts are linked here, as well as a further explanation on the readathon here.

I am being quite ambitious and looking to do every subject in the OWL’s, so 12 books! I had a look at the incredible booklet that Gi had created for the Careers, and I have a few options I want to keep open. I am leaning towards a Healer, but I’m also keeping my options open for Aurologist, Librarian and Magizoologist. So below are my books for each of the OWL’s subjects!

So that’s my TBR for the OWL’s TBR! I hope you enjoyed, I had so much fun planning my books for this readathon as always! Are any of you also participating in the OWL’s? What subjects and careers are you planning for? What are your other reading plans for April? I’d love to know!

THANKS FOR READING!
