I was so excited when I saw the announcement for this readathon, there was no doubt that I’ll be participating, because the only thing better than reading and the Harry Potter franchise is when they merge together!
It was created and will be hosted by Gi from Book Roast, and will be running from 2nd April – 29th April.
In true Ravenclaw fashion, I am going to set myself high by setting a TBR based on each of the topics! Of course, as with the OWL’s, there will be set grades for the amount of book read/exams sat and passed. To get the highest grade of ‘Outstanding’, you will need to complete five of the challenges, which is where I am setting my bar! 5 books in 4 weeks shouldn’t be too tricky, right?!
ANCIENT RUNES: Read a book with a symbol on the cover
The Rose Society – Marie Lu
ARITHMACY: Read a book with a number in the title or cover
The Girl in 6E – A. R. Torre
ASTRONOMY: Read a Science-fiction novel
A Wrinkle in Time – Madeleine L’Engle
CARE OF MAGICAL CREATURES: Read a book that includes magical creatures/has one on the cover
To Kill a Kingdom – Alexandra Christo
CHARMS: Read a fantasy book
Exit West – Mohsin Hamid
DEFENSE AGAINST THE DARK ARTS: Read a book featuring secret societies/clubs
The Mockingbirds – Daisy Whitney
DIVINATION: Read a book featuring prophecies
The Wicked Deep – Shea Ernshaw
HERBOLOGY: Read a book with a nature-related word in the title
The Hazel Wood – Melissa Albert
HISTORY OF MAGIC: Read a Historical fiction
The Nightingale – Kristin Hannah
MUGGLE STUDIES: Read a muggle non-fiction book
Feminism is for Everybody – Bell Hooks
POTIONS: Read a book with alchemy
The Alchemist – Paulo Coelho
TRANSFIGURATION: Read a book that deals with shape-shifting OR has a cat on the cover
A Cats Love – Morgan Brand
So, call me ambitious, but I feel that if I really buckled down I could definitely get most of these completed. Any of you also participating in the Magical Readathon? Which topics are you hoping to complete? I’d love to know!
THANKS FOR READING!!
