“–These are books you didn’t end up getting to in 2017, but really want to prioritise in 2018.”
Top 5 Wednesday (T5W) is a Goodreads group consisting of weekly ‘Top 5’s created by Booktuber Sam from “thoughtsontomes”. If you would like to explore the group more further, there’s a link right here to take you to the main page!
Apologies for no T5W post last week! I had already done a post about my “bookish goals” for 2018, so I didn’t want to duplicate that. But I liked the sound of this week because I could relate SO HARD. I had so many books I wanted to get to at once, there were just simply some I couldn’t get to, and still haven’t been able to get to!
5/ City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
I was meaning to start this series last year, but it just kept getting pushed back as there were just other books I wanted to read more. It’s not that high on my priorities, but it’s still on my ‘next read’ shelf by my bed, so that’s something!
4/ Scarlet by Marissa Meyer
This has been on so many TBR’s ever since I read Cinder in summer. I don’t know why I haven’t picked it up. I’ve always ‘almost’ pick it up, but I just haven’t!
3/ Dark Matter by Blake Crouch
I don’t know why I hadn’t gotten to this, I was planning to read it around autumn time when it’s dark, cold, and creepy, because this felt like the perfect thriller to read around that time. But various readathons came up and I lost track of time, next thing I know the season has passed and it’s time to get into the winter/Christmas spirit…
2/ Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
A movie adaptation that even my non-reader friends are talking about, and that’s saying something! So I wanted to pick it up when everyone else was reading it, but I have started it now and should have it finished before the movie.
1/ We Are The Ants by Shaun David Hutchinson
I’ve been scared to pick this up, I’m not gonna lie. I’ve heard so many positive things about it, I feel like it’ll give me too high expectations. I’m hoping to lower my expectations and get into it shortly!
So are there any books which you wanted to get to in 2017, but run out of days in the year? Any of these you’ve read and want me to prioritise the most? I’d love to know!
THANKS FOR READING!!
